Have you been feeling demotivated at work lately? Did it start to affect your performance and maybe your relationship with colleagues? Maybe it even started affecting your mood and other areas of life?
BUT
You love your colleagues, the salary is excellent, and you love the atmosphere in the company?
If you feel stuck and demotivated, it doesn't mean you can't change that.
There are some things YOU can DO to increase your motivation.
Here are 6 ways how to do that:
1. Ask your superior for a new project or task
Be honest and have an open conversation with your superior. Open up and ask for a challenge or a new project you can work on. You can even come up with an idea about the new project and present it to your boss. If you're afraid that the answer will be no, just remember this - if you don't try, you'll never know. A great opportunity might open up just because you decided to try and talk to your boss.
2. come up with new ways to do your daily tasks
Change something about your daily tasks. Even if it's a tiny thing you do differently, it might help. So here are some questions to ask yourself:
How can I do this task differently? How can I do it more efficiently? What are some ways I can make this task more interesting?
3. remind yourself what's your purpose, role and what you bring to the organization
Sometimes we forget what our role and purpose are within the organization. You can ask yourself - "What do I bring to this organization? Why is my role necessary for the company? Who do I help by doing my job? What would happen if I wouldn't show up for work? Who would be affected?
4. remind yourself why you were motivated and passionate at the beginning
If you had motivation and passion for your job once, it doesn't mean you can't get it back. Remember why you even applied for this job. What did motivate you at the beginning? Why were you passionate about this job?
5. Ask your colleagues/friends what motivates them to do their jobs

This can help you see different perspectives and inspire you to rediscover your purpose and motivation. It can be difficult to see other views and possibilities when you're stuck. That's why talking to other people can help you consider different perspectives.
6. Create a to-do list

You can do it daily or on a weekly basis. Seeing all of the tasks you need to do in a day and crossing them off your list will motivate you. Then, at the end of the day, when you take a look at the list and all the stuff you finished, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment.
If you're hesitant about trying any of the things above, maybe this will help -
The worst thing that can happen if you try and it doesn't help is being where you're right now - stuck and without motivation.
And the only thing you need is a willingness to try to gain back your motivation. Take the initiative and don't wait for circumstances to change.
