How I Define My Own Success: It's Not as Difficult as You Think

Success. If you google the meaning of success, you'll get different results. Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Success is the attainment of fame, wealth, or social status. Success is a person or thing that achieves desired aims or attains fame, wealth. OK, it's all true, but what is a success for you? What does it mean to you?

When I was a kid, people would ask me, "What do you want to become when you grow up?" and my answer was always, "I want to be a model and travel around the world." Then when I turned 13 or 14, my answer changed a bit, "I want to be successful when I grow up."

Now that I am a grown-up, I would first ask my younger self, "What does success mean to you?" People can be successful in different areas of life. Some people consider themselves successful when they graduate and get a fantastic job—others, when they get married and have kids. Every person needs to define their success, as we all see it differently.

When you tell yourself: "I want to be successful," first clarify what success means to you. Who are you? What makes you happy? What makes you fulfilled? Once you answer these questions from the bottom of your heart, you will know which area of your life is the most important to you. And then you'll focus on it. After that, set your goals, do whatever is needed, and in your power to reach them and become successful on your terms.

Get some time for yourself. Sit down, make yourself comfortable, and have a little chat with yourself. Discover your definition of success, set your goals. But first of all, ask yourself who you are and what makes you happy. Then write it all down, all your answers, wishes, goals, and aspirations. Once you put it on a piece of paper, it becomes real. After that, you can get back to it whenever you want to remind yourself who you are and what you want to achieve.

You might find out that your success was defined by the expectations of society or your parents. Listen to your inner self. Your inner self, your heart, and your soul know better than anyone else.

And don't stress yourself out if you're still not sure who exactly you are, what exactly you want, or what exactly makes you happy. That's why life is a journey. We're traveling through life, discovering our true selves. We are continually changing, experiencing new beautiful things that shape us into someone we wish to become. I am still figuring out my definition of success, who I am, and striving to become.

Don't forget that you're the only one who can decide what success means to you. You are the only one who can measure whether you are successful at something or not. It's different for everyone.

Don't let others tell you you're not successful enough. You are the ones who know how successful you are and how much you can achieve in your life.

You can accomplish a lot!
